Blocks 11 and 12

So when I started this quilt I just gathered my Christmas scraps, they weren't the right sizes that Amy had listed as needed, but I figured I could make it work. I know I will have enough fabric, but starting this week I am really having to stray a bit from the layout design as I just don't have enough of certain fabrics to follow Amy's example. It is quite fun though, figuring out how to make my scraps stretch, and it makes me excited that I will use up these scraps!

Block 10 - I wanted to add a bit more color this week as I noticed I was getting a lot of white. I think this is super cute with the punch of yellow!

Block 11 - Once again, I wanted to add some more color this week.

And here are the 12 completed blocks. Only 4 more to go! I am getting so excited!

One Thing : One Week Challenge

So Amy at Amy's Creative Side issued a challenge last week to complete one thing on our sewing to do list. I gladly accepted as there were quite a few things piling up for me to get done. So for the challenge I took on finishing my quilt top that has been taking me weeks to get to. I also took on a secret challenge, but didn't type it at Amy's website as I didn't want to put it out there until I knew the results, (Ya, basically I was chicken).

So, Here is the results of my first challenge! Yippee Skipee, I am so excited! I designed this myself and am really happy with the results. I am making a similar one in blue. (Ya, I am still secretly hoping for a set of boy and girl twins :)

So onto my secret challenge for myself. Last week I submitted three of my quilt designs to the Moda Bake Shop to see if they would accept them so that I could design projects for their blog. And guess what, I found out yesterday that all 3 were accepted!!!! I am going to be featured at the Moda Bake Shop with my very own quilt designs. It will be a little bit before one goes up as the designs were in Excel and now they have to be made and a tutorial of the process, so stay tuned. I will make sure to put a big post the day my first one goes up! Ahhh!! I am just so excited I just screamed!

Blocks 9 and 10

I can not believe it has taken me clear to Saturday to get around to these blocks. I normally have the done the day after Amy posts the link. Good old morning sickness, gets ya every time. Which, by the way, who ever came up with morning sickness was rather silly, they really should have called it all day and all night sickness. It is much more descriptive then :) But don't feel to bad, I have got to spend some time with good friends this week hanging out and playing games and that has helped to brighten my outlook.

So, with all that rambling, here are blocks 9 and 10. I am really happy with the way they turned out. The points are nice and crisp and the blocks are just adorable, at least I think so. I suppose I am probably bias though :) Happy quilting!

Something to Get Excited About!

Okay so the last week or two has been a little awful on the nausea home front. Which has meant I have not been able to do near as much quilting as I would like. Today though, I got some great news to put a smile on my face. I won! I won this amazing fabric bundle and this adorable handmade towel from Kaye Prince at Miss Print sponsored by Stef at Little Lady Patchwork. Thanks ladies, you certainly have brightened my weekend!

Week 4 - Quilt-A-Long

For those of you who have been following my Quilt-A-Long progress you will notice a change today. I started a new blog for all of my quilting posts. They were getting so frequent they were starting to take over the other blog :) So going forward, this will be the location of my creative outlet.

Block 5 this week was a log cabin. I think it turned out super cute! I always love log cabin blocks, sometime I just want to make one that keeps going and going :)

Block 6 this week is called Mosaic #5. I think I am going to call it Picture Window, kind of fun. I am pretty happy with how it turned out. There is a point in the center that didn't line up perfectly but besides that everything came out very nice. I haven't worked with HST's much so this is really good practice for me. It figure, practice makes perfect :)

Here are the blocks so far. This is 1/2 of them. I am so happy with them so far. I can't wait to see it all together :)
